A BILL to amend article two, chapter twenty-four-a of the code of
West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated section
six, related to requiring commercial trucks to have the
corporate name prominently displayed on the truck.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article two, chapter twenty-four-a of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be
amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section six, to
read as follows:
ARTICLE 2. COMMON CARRIERS BY MOTOR VEHICLES.
§24A-2-6. Commercial trucks to bear company name.

All common carriers operating in this state shall prominently
display the company or corporate name of the common carrier on the
cab of any truck owned or leased by the common carrier as well as
on any trailer being pulled thereby. Any owner of a common carrier
who fails to comply with this section is guilty of a misdemeanor
and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined up to two hundred
dollars.

NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require commercial trucks
to prominently bear the company name of the commercial carrier on
the truck.
